The Hamilton Fellows Program is designed to attract outstanding individuals from a variety of academic disciplines to the Department of the Treasury. Hamilton Fellows have a unique opportunity to witness and contribute to Treasury's important mission of: “managing the U.S. Government’s finances effectively, promoting economic growth and stability, and ensuring the safety, soundness, and security of the U.S. international financial systems.”

All full-time positions will be located in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Participants in the two-year program will receive both formal and on-the-job training, and be mentored by another Treasury employee.

Fellows may be assigned to work in the Treasury headquarters office or in one of its bureaus depending on the individuals’ interests and qualifications. For more information on Treasury headquarters and its bureaus, please visit www.treas.gov.

The starting salary will be approximately $50,000 (GS-9) with the opportunity for promotions based on performance. In addition to salary, Treasury offers a comprehensive benefits package. Participants may be eligible for a permanent position after successful completion of the two-year program.

We are looking for highly-motivated individuals with strong analytic, research, and writing skills, who can work both independently and collaboratively. Those selected for the Fall 2009 recruitment cycle will have a target start date of February 2010. (U.S. Citizenship and basic security check are required.)
